Why Duckstation is NOT better

Not only do we get the Master Book and Screenplay but you would need 6 different isos.

Good luck still finding those or your save 20 years from now, when Steam users will still be able to play with a few clicks.

Update:
I'm updating this because many of you are confused by "6 ISOs" so I'll spell it out:

MGS1 NA is 2 Discs
MGS VR Missions is 1 Disc
MGS VR Special MIssions is 1 Disc
MGS1 Integral is 2 Discs

Now let's do the math together boys and girls, what 2 + 1 + 1 + 2?
Did you get 6? VERY GOOD!

Update 2:
fixed the title because it was poorly worded originally

Terrible take. My 23 year old MGS Integral CDs are holding up just fine today and I know where to find them. Keeping offline data for 20 years isn't as difficult as you've make it sound.

Seems like a bit of a cope. For one, this IS an emulation of the game, just a proprietary one. I agree that all of the extras are nice but if the game isn't running at its best, or doesn't at least include options for scanlines, boosting internal resolution, etc., that's not a good thing and you shouldn't pretend like it is.
I've also noticed some weird audio bugs with MGS1 due to whatever emulator they're using for this; for example, scrolling through codec digits and even parts of the music (Warhead Storage Facililty) have this weird, unpleasant high frequency pinging sound to them and it's clearly an emulation bug.

Emulator better.
Get salty.

I wonder if Konami developed their own emulator or just copypasted the work of someone else.

Indeed, no idea why pirates/kojidrones told us that MGS1 look like garbage when it looks the same as the original.

Heck some complained about having a PAL version when MGS integral is clearly visible lmao.

Emulation will still be a superior experience than paying for this.

These extra materials will be available on the internet soon enough.

Too bad the original was made to be played on CRT TV's, so looking "the same as the original" is not a good thing at all.

The delusion is real.

What are you smoking? Six different ISOs? Why are you using ISOs to play PS1 games to begin with? .bin files are better, and MGS1 came on two discs, not six. You don't know what the ♥♥♥♥ you're talking about, so stay in your lane with your 50hz slop, and let people who actually understand what ISO files are play the game in a much better way.

So why exactly would I not have my files in 20 years?
Bozz Collin Oct 24, 2023 @ 10:43am
Cool, you get some digital extras that you’ll look at once or twice and never again. I’ll take my GOG copy that runs in widescreen and native 4k resolution. You know, the things that actually matter, like the actual game itself.

I like how you chose to be pedantic about ISO vs bin/cue only to look like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ moron saying I don't know what I'm talking about, because I can play at 60Hz with Integral.

And to further expound on YOU not knowing what you're talking about, this collection comes with MGS1, MGS1 Integral, VR Missions, and Special Missions. That's literally 6 different discs, but tell me more about how I don't know what I'm talking about.

You're a fool if you think any CD will last 40 years.

And burned discs rot even faster; I've seen many bubble and die.

What version of integral runs at 60hz?

Don't you realize you're just playing an ISO/bin file too? MGS is emulated, by a terrible emulator, sadly.
