Mic issues (a40)
So I just switched from xbox to pc and for some reason my mic does not work in game. The computer detects it, steam detects it, even when I go to the options page in game and us the mic test, it registers. When I try to talk in game though, no one can hear me. Anyone ever have this issue or know how to fix it? Im using astro a40s.

Possible.......right click speaker icon in tray and make mic default input

About taking so long to get back to this. Turns out the computer I just built to play games on had a bad motherboard. So I can't play until the replacement gets here.
I'm pretty sure I had chat enabled. But I'll double check when I get back up and running.
I know for a fact that I had the mic and headphones set as default. When I went into settings withing bops and used the much check it would register my voice. For some reason when I tried to talk to someone in game though no one could hear me.

So got my comp back up and running and still no one is able to hear me. Chat is enabled and I am pretty sure all my settings are correct but for some reason people cant hear me. Like I said before my mic registers when I do a mic test in the game settings.

On PC there's a "push to talk" button that you have to press in order to be heard. It's default is Z but you can bind it to anything. Go to Options > Controls > Interaction and find Voice Chat to see what it's bound to.

360 doesn't have that, so if you're used to consoles then I'm guessing that not pressing the PTT button is your problem here.

Yup, thats exactly what it was thanks a lot. Is there anyway to make it so its automatic when I talk? I use a controller (I know, I know) and not too sure how I am gonna go about making that happen during a game.

(Do whatever comes naturally man) Nah there's no menu option for that, unfortunately. You could bind it to something on your controller, but if you're using a 360 controller you kinda need all those buttons for other things.

You could just bind it to some key near the edge of the keyboard and wedge it down all the time with a toothpick or something. Kinda some ghetto MacGuyver sh*t right there, but it would work.

LOL don't think I need to do all that. I'm actually using a razer sabertooth controller which has like a million programmable buttons. Thing that sucks though is you can only program the buttons to normal Xbox buttons. Basically just move an action. I'm gonna look into it though hopefully I can bind one of them to the z key.

(For Steam Deck BO2 but should apply to others as well) Before you enter game go to controller ->edit layout -> triggers(your choice on which trigger to use ) ->keyboard-> select your preferred action button i,e T for talk. (In game) Options -> Controls ->Interact -> select Voice chat(select by touching the UNBOUND keyword and assign the letter using your key board using (...) ->keyboard and assign it the letter you assigned to your trigger in this case T for talk) now everytime you press it you will be in voice chat. Hold to confirm voice chat is active in online.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
