Installing Zombies only
Is it possible to install only the Zombies data instead of the single player and multiplayer? I only really have an interest in playing zombies at this point, and I see no reason to leave the others installed.

The Campaign got all the main textures and all that.
But Im sure you dont have to download the Multiplayer though.

I can run Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Zombies without having to download the Singleplayer or Multiplayer. I don't know how I did it, since I had the message that it was shared content before, but after uninstalling them, I just had to install one of them to play the game.

You can dl just the zombies but you may run into certain problems. You may even not load into the game or may even crash if you don't have the right textures and things like that. That's why it's recommended that you install all 3, SP ,Zombies and MP. It's been that way since BO 1.

In your Steam library, it should give you 3 different Call of Duty Black Ops II downloads. There will be one that's called Call of Duty: Black Ops II, one called Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Multiplayer and one called Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Zombies. I only have Multiplayer and Zombies downloaded, haven't run into any problems with textures or anything.

That's true, you may not run into problems but there have also been plenty of people, including myself who have.
It's up to the user in the end. Do whatever you like, if you run into any issues then you know you'll need to install the other ones too.

You definitely need the Multiplayer to play the DLC Maps (I don't know it on the Non-DLC-Maps).

if you don't have the Multipalyer installed, you'll get a "missing floodacc_n" (or similar) message when you start ascension (and probably some other error codes and crashes on other maps).

So no, you can't install only zombies.

Oops, that's BO2 here. But that's the same eitherway, you need the Multiplayer too on BO2

Mechromancer; that's a shame that I need the multiplayer installed, since I only want to play the DLC maps. Well ♥♥♥♥.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. Once I get back to faster internet I'll experiment and let you all know how it goes.

It's not required, I can do it without. People are saying that you may have issues, but I have never encountered them yet. It has been like this for a year now.

As I said you MAY get issues. I know some people who don't get or see the issues like someone else may get. That's why I said MAY.

I don't know if Steam or Treyarch say that SP and MP are required but I have seen issues and personally have had them if you just install Zombies. SP and MP DO share files with Zombies. So if you get some type of message missing flood acc or texture etc etc etc...that is why.

It's up to the user to try and figure out though. Up to him to see what works for him. As I said, if you run into issues then just install SP and MP.

You can download only zombies! I did an experiment. Sorry for the long time gap between all the comments! I want to say this. If you have Single-player and Multi-player, you ONLY need to download 971.1 MB of data for Green Run (TranZit, Survival etc.) But here are the sizes alone:

Single-player Only: 11.1 GB
Multi-player Only: 5.7 GB
Zombies Only: 4.8 GB

Single-player + Multi-player: 13 to 14 GB
SP + MP + Z: 15 GB

So, no, BOII Zombies can run alone, it downloads the textures and data separately! It will take around 5 GB Storage though. Still, Good Side: You don't need SP or MP! Down Side: If your internet connection is slow, prepare for megalovania on your bill.
