game wont open
So recently I downgraded windows 11 and all my games still work except black ops 2 zombies. I can run MP but not zombies. When I try to open the game it says "updating executable" on steam, then stops. Ive reinstalled, verified files, even tried to install it on another drive and it doesnt fix. Any tips on what i can do?

Edit: So you dont have to scroll, what fixed it for me was deleting the player folder in the black ops 2 folder. Hope this helps someone else!

Verify the files for all bo2 versions (MP, ZM, Campaign) also clear download cache, if that still aint working install the latest DirectX version from the Microsoft site & restart your pc. That should fix it, same thing happened to me I just upgraded my pc & bo2 wouldn't open. Hope this helped.

Download the Multiplayer of BO2. Try to open it and then launch Zombies. That fixed it for my friend and I
Verify game files over and over and over until the game launches. After doing this do not reinstall the game unless absolutely necessary. MP took me 4 times and ZM took me 6 times to get this to work.

Try installing an older version of directx, the problem is that you have a more recent version installed.

try with version 11, 10 and 9

It has worked for me, good luck
