the same problem but on wave 26 buried its steam(((
I have this issue very constantly facing this nasty monotone error when playing solo or co-op! I wish I could just play solo offline, at least I would not have to worry when this s**t happen again online. It seems it is easier just to move to other games, there is no much point to force something that's dieng... Yes, we are addicted to zombies, and love it despite the s**t. But devs are risking a valuebale game that might someone smarter will "steal" the addiction formula and make something exponetially better than this errorized game... Activision, you better bring your s**t together and stop this error nightmare, it destroys people's time and joy!

you might want to consider getting a better internet connection...before i doubled my connection speed i couldnt get to 25 because of it but i havent had many problems after i paid a little extra money. your upload speed is important especially if you are the host
I have a friend who has 102 mbps, we played recently Tranzit and we still got the disconnection error. He was host and we both had very stable low ping and then suddenly boom - disconection error, yaay... He also experiences the same s**ty error! 102 mbps and I can't believe that even he has constant crash issues! This error s**t kills every argument, no matter what you do on your end to fix issues. It seems the s**t comes with the game like a bug. It's a curse and there is nothing you can really do on your end. We have to accept it and hope to have few lucky matches in many attempts to play. Why we can't have a stable game is beyond me, I am a reasonable player but if I pay my game then I want the quality experience and not some bugy errorized s**t, after all it isn't a cheap 5 bucks game.

Some of the issues are Steam related (servers going down/maintenance), other issues could be router not setup correctly, windows firewall issue, anti virus or just software running in the background.

Don't use wifi, don't Skype, don't use Youtube, stream music or movies while gaming. The bandwidth option in the game refers to your upload speed. If your not at 800 Kbps, you could have issues disconnecting, especially if your the host.

For the router, NAT is typically causing the issue. Make sure your NAT is open ingame. In the router make sure your NAT is turned on, you may need to stop your IP from changing, put your IP in the routers DHCP Reservation List. Might need to also forward the games ports or put router in the dmz.

i m very confident to say that its not about the internet speed, it about the game developers itself, they have to fix it as none of us are enjoyong the game with that error :(
Nat type won't cause you crashes, it just limits your searches for match making which means you wait longer till you find people to play with. That's why it is good have at least moderate nat type. 6-10 mbps is more than enough to play online with stable ping, even less works. I don't stream s**t while I am online gaming, and for firewall I clearly set up for private and public including steam (you just check the boxes, easy to do). I don't use antivirus programs since they are heavy s**t of processes, only microsoft essential is the one I use but I turn it off when I play zombies. I play it in internet club where I work that has a special router that controls the download and upload rates so that all gamers have a stable online matches, like Leaga of Legends, Battlefield, Dota, COD4 etc. While I constantly end up with errors with zombies matches, others have great online experiences! It is somekind an error within the game, and Tranzit map is mostly hit with it. So if some people don't have dlc's they will have terrible time playing Tranzit. Really, it is just a matter of luck if you can end your zombie match properly without getting stabbed by the "epic" error of disconnection... What's interesting is that error doesn't really come from any real disconnection, however the error just lasts few seconds and then you are back online only that steam requires you this: "you need to login into steam". LoL! xD

NAT does cause issues, it's been known for years. If your router is not set up correctly you can get disconnected. It has been this way since CoD MW2. It's not a myth, it's a fact.

Windows Firewall for Steam should be on your home network unless you have it setup for something else. Majority of people will use a home network.

6-10 mb is for download, unless your upload is 6-10 mb which some are but most people don't get that due to ISPs charging out ragious prices. Alot of people forget that there is download and upload, the bandwidth in BO II options is for upload as upload is what is needed to play/host in the game.

There are several errors that BO II have, the logging in error is typically when Steam goes down. Whether it's the servers or for maintenance. I can confirm this as I have over the past few weeks have had friends on and we all lost connection to BO II servers, Steam goes offline. We try to get back into Steam but says you can't connect check internet connection. It will say retry and something else, if you retry you have to login, it won't help you any, still never works. Sometimes you can restart your computer or disconnect your router for a minute. It may help but it doesn't always, depends on Steams servers of how long they are down. It can vary from a few seconds/minutes to 30+ minutes.

Even though I have internet access Steam acts as though I don't. I have heard it has to do with there always on connection but who knows. Steam is sensitive to your connection and if something interupts it, you lose connection. If your playing BO II that can suck cause there's a good chance of getting disconncted. Personally I think Steam is crap, at least when CoD is invovled.

Biggest issue for me was my firewall, as soon as I began taking it down before I got in game I stopped getting random disconnects

Open the ports on your router 27000..27050 , 3478..4380 and 3074..3075 . It gave me pen NAt and although i occasionally disconnect i feel this will solve your problem. Also add me if anyone wants to play a game with no quitting :)

Yea same for me. I found out since BO II was released, Windows Firewall was setting Steam to a public network. I use a home network, once I switched to my home network, most of the issues stopped.

i would have got the same error many times and is the reason why i havent played it in months just came back here to see if it was fixed and its not
Why would it be fixed, game is no longer supported. Game hasn't been updated in over six months.

Some issues can be fixed, anything game related no, as game is no longer supported/being updated.
Some issues are also just Steam related, that's on Steam to deal with.
so how do i make my firewall home or.......... just how to change the settings in firewall..... guide us texasrattler
Go to your control panel, click on system and security, under windows firewall click on "allow programs to communicate through windows fiewall", find call of duty black ops II and Steam, make sure both have their boxes checked marked. Sometimes just the public box is checked if it is, thats ok but you need to check the home/work one too as that is what most people will use. To make things really easy for anyone, just make sure that all 3 boxes are checked for BO II zombies and for Steam. Also do the same for BO II (aka single player) and BO II multiplayer.

If the boxes are already checked then windows firewall isn't your problem.

*if your using a paid service for your anti virus, you may not have access to windows firewall, you will then need to go into your anti virus software and see what it is allowing.
