Let's talk Banhammer for a second Steam Community. Here is a list of the top asked questions regarding the Banhammer.

Q: In the unlikely event that a legit player like myself gets banned, will you tell me why I've been banned?
A: No, a legit player will never be banned. If you find yourself banned I'm sure it was for cheating...

Q: I was banned for NO REASON! Unban me!
A: No Reason is a powerful hack, we see a lot of people banned for using it... [Translation: You were banned for cheating]

Q: But my cousin's nephew's bestfriend's sister's cat's uncle's owner was playing and downloaded a hack.
A: It is your job to secure your account and make sure your friends/family/or total strangers don't download any nefarious software.

Q: Will you unban me?
A: No, All bans are permanent.

Q: "UNBAN ME NOW!"
A: per·ma·nent - /ˈpərmənənt/ - Adjective - Lasting or remaining unchanged indefinitely.

Q: If I get reported, like a lot, will I get banned even if I'm not cheating?
A: No, legit players will not get banned. Stay clean, stay in game.

Q: If I use such and such app will I get banned?
A: If you have to ask us if it's safe, then you probably shouldn't be using it.

Q: I've been banned will you unban me?
A: No.

A: No, and anyone claiming to know how it works is not an official representative of Treyarch or Activision.

Q: What types of things can I be banned for?
A: Our zero tolerance policy on cheats includes but is not limited to the following - boosting, aimbots, wallhacks, ESP, trainers, crosshair hacks, scope hacks, recoil hacks, ammo hacks, token hacks, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, or any deliberate modification of game data on disk or in memory.

Q: I only cheated in SP, private matches, and solo zombies why did I get banned?
A: You cheated.

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: If we catch you cheating in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, you will be permanently banned.
