bo2 won't open or launch

I had bo2 zombies and multiplayer working before. Uninstalled it 2 weeks ago and reinstalled it because friends got back into it. It no longer launches the game. My friends can play it just fine however. I get the 0xc000007b error code when trying to launch.

The methods I have tried so far:
Reinstalling the game. Reinstalling all 3 bo2, bo2 multiplayer, and bo2 zombies. Validating files. Validating files with steam in administrator mode. Launching any bo2 in administrator mode. Checking firewalls for access. Uninstalling all graphics drives and reinstalling. Uninstalling from the control panel and reinstalling the game. I've even tried redownloading a working .exe and it still will not work.

I am at a total loss. I've basically given up. Any help would be greatly appreciated since steam has NO HELP on this whatsoever.

Managed to fix it? i had it before, and got it fixed by launching the core bo2 game first, and from there start zombies/multiplayer. Hit me up if u wanna look into it together, i dont mind helpin.

I did fix it, i had to replace the dll files because they were corrupted somehow

Try installing an older version of directx, the problem is that you have a more recent version installed.

try with version 11, 10 and 9

It has worked for me, good luck

I had this issue before. Delete the "player" folder in your black ops 2 folder. Verify Files after doing that and the game will launch.

the entire folder labeled "players"? With "bindings" and "save games" and "hardware" files inside it?

literally months later, just a few days ago, i got on zombies having forgot about this problem... and the game loaded up perfectly fine, i didnt change anything....

I went to the BO2 folder and find the .exe files for each and right click> Properties> compatibility> Set to windows 7 or 8 and open the .exe a bunch of times and then finally it launches now. That just worked for me and I'm on windows 11. Side note I set it to open as administrator and then removed it. I opened zombies from singleplayer it didnt launch but i just kept clicking the exe files until they finally launch now.
