Way to turn off fog?
Is there a way to disable fog and denizens? Tranzit would be better without them

Yeah probably if you either mess around with the config file, or inject some dll's.

Modifying game data can cause a risk for bans so not a smart idea

Q: What types of things can I be banned for?
A: Our zero tolerance policy on cheats includes but is not limited to the following - boosting, aimbots, wallhacks, ESP, trainers, crosshair hacks, scope hacks, recoil hacks, ammo hacks, token hacks, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, or any deliberate modification of game data on disk or in memory.

(see the pinned topic about Q&A of BANS)

If the fog is causing you from getting good fps then upgrade your hardware but if its making it hard to see make your monitor brightness and contrast higher (it really helps out) also you dont need a program just click on the buttons that have labels or symbols on them and turn the contrast to max (however it will increase energy consumption)

and if your monitor is already at max contrast and brightness then SOL.

Well I think they put the fog in to help people's fps haha, but that't not really the issue. It's that the fog makes it really hard to run from location to location without running into walls and dead ends, so the bus is really my only option for traversing the map. Without the fog, it would be easier to navigate the map and give it a more true open world feel which i would like better. The fog is kind of limiting the experiance for me.

The truth is the fog is there to prevent you from seeing how empty the inaccessible areas are. Tranzit is a massive map and they couldn't overload it with "surrounding decoretion" so they just masked it with the fog. Removing it would definitely help fps. but 9 years later it would barely make any difference with today's hardware. that's why people want tranzit to be remade even though it is regarded as one of the worst maps. because it has potential.

yeah, I believe the original reason for the existence of fog and denizens was deterring players from going outside of main areas (except passing through with bus). from what I've read on internet, previous generation consoles (PS3 & X360) weren't powerful enough to provide acceptable performance for tranzit, if devs had put some high-quality work for all those big environments. they could have done it for PCs where hardware limitation is less of an issue, but treyarch possibly didn't want to get backlash by console users (and even Sony/Microsoft), or the system requirements would be slightly higher on PC, leading to less sale numbers for activision.
