Shattered Mountain on Elite

I just cannot seem to get Shattered Mountain on Elite. I get to where I kill the RPG and "Target has fled". Man, I do not know what else to try. I get there as fast as I can, but, always seem to get at least two of the team injured-slows you down....sucks.

It wasn't meant as an insult at all. I just like to play alone-single player only. The only game I play online multiplayer is DOD source-no other. I apologize for any slight.

Yeah, that was the hardest section of the game. I've beaten the game on elite (solo) so here are few tips:

- kill the first two guys yourself as fast as you can (laser scope is very useful for this mission) as you will not be using first person precision aiming here much (slows you down)
- RUN!! keep running straight and then down the slope to your left, don't stop to kill enemies unless they are right in your face
- at this time your first target (officer) should be coming from your right (TAG HIM so that you or your squad can take him out)
- you should be in front of your team mates most of the time
- keep running from cover to cover avoiding fire until you reach the small wall next to the road
- while in cover position move down the road (do not stop to shoot too often) until you see a path (across the road), jump over the wall and run to the next cover (there are trees, walls, hay stacks etc.) there are also enemies with RPG's here, so be careful
- after crossing the path there will be a clearing with lots of cover, swarming with spetsnaz forces
- you have to take them out as fast as you can, cuz it's almost impossible to run past them without getting killed (don't forget to use your grenades, flash-bangs or whatever you have)
- so basically cover to cover running mechanic is your best bet, laser scoped weapon optimized for stability is also a good option, you REALLY NEED TO RUN in order to beat this one

I did die once after the checkpoint, cuz I got blasted by emp, but it was pretty straightforward I reckon. Cheers

I find trying to synchronize (Q) shots is too slow; you have to do most of the killing yourself and as mentioned and illustrated keep running. Wish there was a checkpoint at the top of the cut line-keeping dying there or take too long trying to kill the machine gunners etc. Also I am having trouble with the team constantly being injured in need of "attention". Thanks for the video-very nice and helpful.

Still no joy; I have been over 1 year trying to get this last part after suffering through the entire game on elite. I just do not understand why the developers feel they have to make it almost impossible to finish the game with gabage like this-reminds me of JC2. I guess this will be like JC2 where I just will not be able to finish the game-it just sucks.

Sorry to hear that. :( You are very close to the end. That was literary the last 5 minutes of the game, followed by a short, on rails section.
I agree that the game-play in this part is counter-intuitive compared to the rest of the game. It's just a crazy run and gun dash.
You can also try using LMG for this section. LSAT has very high control when tweaked and relatively high damage. It also suppresses enemies.
I personally prefer ACR (match trigger and laser aiming) and SR-3M (semi auto and laser aiming) but you can also use 3 round burst for your PDR weapon type. I used ACR and SR-3M combo in this video.

Well, that's it for me. This and JC2 are the only 2 games I have ever played I am unable to finish-and I have played every action/FPS since Windows 98; one because I cannot type 8 digits in fast enough and this one I cannot get past the top of the cut line. So, I give up...am the only one whinning about both, so, it must be me. I will not play or purchase this game or anything from these developers ever again. Uninstalled, am not enjoying it at all, the frustration has got to the point where it just is not worth it anymore.
