Purchases from LOTRO store

I've tried to purchase turbine points directly from the LOTRO store, with no luck. Following other comments online, I added money to my Steam wallet, but still no luck.

Essentially, I try to buy Turbine Points while in LOTRO (logged in through Steam), select the Add Points option, specify the quantity, and then wait forever while the window reads, "Please wait while we process your transaction."

Am I missing something?

if playing through steam, it should pop up a steam window at that point to allow you to pay using your steam wallet.
do you have the steam ui integration disabled perhaps? In other words, does shift-tab (or whatever key you have assigned it to) bring up the steam overlay while in game?

Hmmm. When I click the link that says something like "purchase using Steam" (the wording eludes me) the window just shows point/cost quantities; I don't see a a steam popup.

Once the hotfix is finished and I can log back into the game, I'll look into this and report back. If a Steam popup does not appear, I'll poke around and see if I've got it blocked/disabled, but I'm not sure where I'd look. Thank you for responding!

Yep. You got it. I noticed that when I quit and relogged into Steam, it said I had to activate a certain UI enhancement, which I then did. Transactions run fine now. Thanks!!

Hey. I'm having the same problem with buying points in the lotro store. I've checked to make sure that I'm allowing steam overlay in-game (which doesn't work in the game either), and I've tried adding money to my steam wallet. Nothing's working. Any ideas?

PC as well here and cannot get Steam overlay functioning in LotRO so I can purchase points. I've made sure both the standard Steam settings and the specific program are set to allow overlay. I've tried DX9, DX10, I've tried adding the TurbineInvoker to Steam as a non-Steam game (even though I downloaded it through Steam) and I've tried deleting the ClientRegistry.blob and having Steam recreate one. Tried full screen and windowed mode (and fullscreen windowed).

No luck on any attempt. Still cannot use overlay in LotRO so I cannot purchase points. Overlay is working fine in other games.

Currently running Windows 8 64-bit OS.

Until they find a fix that will work for me for this, I'm going to need to download LotRO separately as a non-Steam game to be able to access in the in-game store (better deals on TP than purchasing a code from outside the game).

I broke down and bought the cheapest package of points that I could, using the "Get points now-play later" option. I could just punch in the code it sent me, and was able to get the points that way.

It sucks, because I ended up spending more money than I intended to, but I wasn't going to download lotro twice just so I could get their points. That's way too big a pain in the ass, and WAY too much space getting eaten up.

I have the same problem, tried DX11 DX10 DX9, adding the game as a non-Steam, fullscreen, windowed mode nothing worked. I am also on Windows 8 64-bit so I started to think that maybe steam overlay doesn't work on this OS yet. I'll try with another OS today to see if it lets me to purchase points in-game.

Yes, that was the problem, I tried with win 7 32-bit and successfully bought the points. I hope that they will bring win 8 support soon.

Unfortunately, since I'm on a mac, I wouldn't know what the fix is. I'm sorry. (Mac is having problems of its own with Steam, though.)

Windows 8 x64 Me too. I'll be re-installing the game without Steam just so I don't miss out on this weekend's XP boost. Thanks for the "fix"

Steam keeps failing me on these Turbine MMOs

Edit: Installing without Steam is faster because you can play while content is still downloading.

On Windows 8 x64, if I run LotRO via TurbineLauncher.exe direct from
\Steam\steamapps\common\Lord of the Rings Online\ and not via Steam then I can buy points okay.
