What will definitely help some people out is that subscribers get "rest XP" - this means that while they're not logged on, a blue bar accumulates on their XP gauge. When they return, as long as that bar is not filled, they get double xp from kills and quests.
The main thing for leveling is: quest, quests and more quests. You get some decent xp from kills. but quests, especially those close to your level, are the biggest source of XP. This runs into a wall at around your level though, since all level 30-50 areas are no longer free to play (you'd need to subscribe, or buy quest packs in the store, to get quest access).
A good secondary option, especially if you play a soloable class, is to run skirmishes; kills there tend to be good xp too.
Actually, white names means it's your level +/- 1, which is fine for xp too. Orange/Red ones may not be doable, since they will likely involve beating strong monsters. But by all means try them.
Just be careful to keep an eye out for quests marked "Small Fellowship" or "Fellowship". With very few exceptions you will have a very hard time doing those solo. So avoid those unless you have some in-game friends to do them with.
