Is the game open world?
Is LOTRO open world/sandbox? Like World of Warcraft? I'm interested in playing but I don't want a rollercoaster mmo.

Like I don't want to travel 10 metres then need to switch instance like TOR.

Neither WoW nor LOTRO are sandbox games, ArcheAge is/will be and the old StarWars-MMO was.
Lotro is comparable to WoW, but from my experience you have more group content in Lotro.

WoW is sandbox because its open world and the devs can pretty much add what ever they wanted because the engine can support it, which is the sort of game I'd like, not instances everywhere I want to be able to run from the misty mountains to say Mordor without needing 40000 instance switches.

Dude, WoW IS the definition of a THEMEPARK mmo, not a sandbox.

Definition doesn't matter here though; LoTRO is more similar to WoW than it is to ToR.

I did not play much of WoW but i have played alot of RPGMMOs so what do you think most MMOs are free roam but it the levels you have to be careful of but say everquest 2 that was a RPGMMO i did not free roam in that much there is really not alot to look for but there are lot of RPGMMOs this is a sandbox

Such an old thread, but incorrect information. lol WoW is not a sandbox MMO and neither is this game. If you have to zone to get to another map, the game is not open world.
