Can you permadeath the main story?

I like permadeathing MMOs where you can see the level of the enemies and so death is avoidable.

I know technical you don't die in LOTR you just run back to a zone when your moral breaks, but is death avoidable? Or can you get screwed in the late game? Environmental dangers ect

No, scripted deaths are fine, just the floor collapsing and falling into lava or something, or a boss that can one shot you despite you being at the recommended level

No there's nothing like that, outside of you trying to do a raid all by yourself. 12 man raid with just you in it, yeah you'd probably get one shotted in that case.

There is one thing with Angmar (Region) where there are "Statues" you eventually have to get past. The Main Story will make it so you can get past them.

However if you'd go close to them before that you'd be "Defeated".
