The Lord of the Rings Online™

Unable to transfer to Orcrist
Using the server transfer feature in the launcher, the only servers available to transfer to are
Glamdring and Peregrin.
Both of which are NA servers, yes?

I'm looking to transfer to EU server Orcrist, but this destination isn't listed anywhere in the menu. What's up with this? According to the devpost, EU servers went up on the sixth or sevenths of this month, right?

At first I thought maybe they were just occupied, but it's been over a week and every time I check it's the exact same thing.

If you have US Characters they can only go to Glamdring (US) and Peregrin (US).

EU Characters can only go to Orcrist (EU) & Meriadoc (EU).

There's still that whole different data set up between the 32bit US & EU servers that carries over to the new 64bit ones.

I'm on Arkenstone. I have no idea what region that server is set up for.

Arkenstone is US.

Huh. Weird. I wonder why I set up on a north-america server.

Well, it was like... 16 years ago, so who knows.
If it can't be done, it can't be done.

Back in the day they had no Server tags for region.

Some servers still don't and even some recently added like Glamdring.

Sounds like you started playing back when there were 2 versions of the game. The US version run by Turbine and the EU version run by Codemasters.

And for what ever reason you bought the US version.

Well you didn't "buy" a version you joined a Server. Servers for years did not have a US or EU label. This problem became worse in 2011 when all LOTRO Servers were hosted in the USA.
I've given up trying now, I have initiated it 4 times.. And nothing! Nothing happens, no email, no transfer and no indication of what is what isn't happening.

Latest from their Discord:

Based on reports from the community, the transfer queue is currently processing requests from around Thursday 13 March 2025 at 04:00 (UK). Times are in YOUR local timezone. Approximate time for transfer completion 82 hours.

They've managed to transfer more than a million characters so far.

No you actually did have to BUY the boxed set of the disks. From launch (2007) until 2009 when they made Mirkwoods only a digital download, you could only access the game by buying the disks and the one's here were sold by Turbine and in the EU by Codemasters.

The reason there were no country tags on servers was because 2 separate companies were running the game. Country tags only were brought in when Codemasters shut down and those players transferred over to Turbine.
