My Steely Dawn key gives me a "Promotional mount"

I tried to use the CD-Key I got from steam, but it does nothing, but try to give me a "promotional mount". It seems, that turbine ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up ... again. After telling me that, it stuck at this point, there is no option to redeem anything at all.

As result I have no regular key for LOTR now, and I am not able ro play. I alreadfy notified turbine support, but got no answer from them. I find it quiet irritating, that nobody bothered to test the cd-keys.

How the hell do I get a real CD-KEY now, and from WHOM? Who is responsible for that?

I am really mad about this.

well if I am reading you correctly, you have to go to the help section on the turbine site and there is something about getting a free key to activate your account, you send them an email requesting a free key. It took 3 days to get mine, the support is pretty ♥♥♥♥. Also, ♥♥♥♥♥ I want that grey horse lol I didn't get no horse, your cd key may work once you enter in the free activation key they email you, my steely dawn was saying it was invalid until I entered the free key.

Worked this way for me and others, it surely is irritating it says promotional mount, but it really doesn't mean anything.

Still doesn't work for me. Launcher states' no subscription for LOTRO found'. I opened a sub especially thinking it would solve it but no.

I cannot get a free key, because I already have a subscription fro DDO, a turbine game. So am am not able to subsribe with my already existing turbine account, and as result I am not getting any key to play. This mechanisn on their website is beyond dumb. How hard can it be to give an automated free key on request?

I mailed this to turbine, 4 days ago. Of course I did it. But I did not get any answer so far. So I am more than annoyed.

This is a REAL good way to get new PAYING customers. In my case, I will never ever spend any money on that game, now that I know the level of incompetence they have achieved.

I am not able to "proceed", because there are no options or buttons to proceed with. I tried it with 3 different browser, but no result. This is because I am not able to get a free subscription key from them. Because I already have a turbine account for ddo, so they refuse to register my existing turbine account as account for LOTRO.

You can have multiple subscriptions on your Turbine account (for both DDO and LotRO), although I have not done it myself, I play only LotRO and had no problems redeeming it even with it saying promotional mount.

1- "Promotional Mount" is a generic term applied to all "give-a-ways" i.e. promotions.

2- If you have a DDO account, you shold be able to create a separate SUBSCRIPTION for LOTRO.

CALL Turbine support on the phone... it is much faster than waiting for email. The phone number is on the {LINK ENTFERNT}support.turbine.com contact page.

They should be able to step you through the process of adding LOTRO to your DDO account.

(Depending upon how old your DDO account is, they may have to do "special things" to get it to work. I happen to have accounts with both, and both are from their Beta Periods circa 2005, meaning, I have to get Support to "fiddle" with my account periodically.)
