I personally never used VM for absolutely anything. I either run it native Linux, or with Wine API (its not an emulator).
LoTR and DDO both have a problem with the launcher. I've read the explanation thousands of times but I keep forgetting. Basically the launcher won't work, forget it. The installer also may not work, but some people got it working. The trick is to get an old installer which works out-of-the-box with Wine and the launcher developed by the community called pyLoTRO.
Just as a fun fact, many people use pyLoTRO on Windows because the native launcher just sucks.
Yes, and your point being? People that use Windows don't use FOSS software in your world either I bet...
Although there are people that run Linux purely out of ideological principle, most people that run Linux do it for other reasons, and proprietary/closed source/non-free software does not matter, as long as it's the right tool for the right job.
Nice necro, dude.
It ran just fine, except that the in game store crashes.
I'm all for a native a linux version but I doubt it'll happen.
Seeing that you're posting on a thread that's 2 years old, I wouldn't hold my breath for it...
