That said, you're still hitting number keys to spawn skills, and tabbing to select targets.
That said while this game is good overall, its end game sucks for the raider I have been told that raidng and group is coming out this year but Turbines previous record means I don't fully trust them to this end.
At this time this is a great game for the solo player, not so good for the raider.
If you just want to hit max level & do raids then you will miss what the game is about (not to mention the lack of end-game content that will make you regret this path immediately).
The game is an MMO, which means you will have the same type of quests (kill x number of y for me, get this from there, deliver this to there) to sink time in.
There are other type of quests (Search for boars in a certain area), and of course there are the epic quests, where you more or less follow the Fellowship of the Ring, helping them behind the scenes.
The main storyline and the lore is where this game beats most (if not all) MMOs.

It is all about "story," not just about simple quests which lead to another quest and another, which is simply the classic MMO "game mechanic." You will find bits and pieces from Tolkien's books all throught the map. And it IS a big map.
LOTRO is NOT a PvP game. It is NOT a "Raiding" game. LOTRO has no "end-game" and if you understand Tolkien, it may never have an end-game. LOTRO is very much about the journey. This is what makes LOTRO different from all other MMOs out there.
MMOs have not changed one iota since the days of Zork and Colossal Cave -- they simply added more than one person on the map at one time -- but the underlyin game technological concepts -- hack and slash or solve this puzzel -- have not changed.
LOTRO is an immersive landscape where it is quite easy to loose oneself in a different world for hours at a time. It is NOT linear, it is easy to go on "side quests;" to visit the many different areas of Middle Earth available. I'm a Founder/LIfetime player, and have been re-visiting many of the "old areas" I have been through many times before with many different characters.
LOTRO is a world to be explored with many different characters with different abilities, and interests. Role-playing abounds in LOTRO. Kinships and Guilds flourish -- as do Bands!
LOTRO has the most sophisticated player music system of any MMO -- and there are many bands and "pubs" where you can experience these artists at work and play. Including the annual spring Festival "Weathertop" on Landroval. And did I mention there are 29 different servers (worlds) each with its own flavor.
