Not yet. The current 64bit servers are VIP only. You'll need to wait (along with the rest of us) until this spring when the replacement servers for the current ones come online.

Hope these help address the insane lag. Quit playing a few years ago cause the rubber banding was terrible.

From the posts I've read over on the official there's still a little, but WAY down from what people report is going on now.

One thing they haven't fixed / are seeing is the system can't handle LotRO's version of a world boss when everyone piles on into the same small area to fight it.

64-bit Servers will help as for example how certain things are loaded will be faster & more efficient. So this will help.

There is definitely still lag though.

A big thing is that nobody right now (Feb 3rd, 2025) knows what the 64-bit Servers that are coming will be like due to:

  • How many players will be playing on Launch Day, Launch Week, and Launch Month.

  • Characters with lots of Data & older Data.

  • The upcoming 64-bit Servers will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA and Amsterdam, Netherlands, Europe.

For the amount of players one can expect Thousands to be on the 4 upcoming Servers on Launch Day and especially that first week during peaks times.

Characters with lots of Data & older Data is all of them transferring from a 32-bit Server to 64-bit Server. Quests & Deeds for example are a "pillar of lag" and also why that a Character with "more Quests & Deeds that are finished will load slower" than a Character with far less Quests & Deed done.

The different Server Locations are also an unknown for how they'll perform as we'll all be playing on a different location compared to where the 32-bit Servers are hosted from in New Jersey, USA.

So 100% the 64-bit Servers will help but we also have many variables that can only be known once the servers launch & players are on them.

The current 64-bit servers, angmar and morder, get laggy as ♥♥♥♥ when pop gets high(like 700+) just like the 32-bit servers. Thinking the new 64-bit servers coming will be better hardware is complete copium. They want to merge players from 32-bits into the 2 new 64-bit servers per region(US/EU) so pop on those servers will always be high, therefore always be laggy crapshoots. SSG always operates like greedy corpo's, with business first. So they will have the same old cheap server hardware for sure.

To be fair not everyone has the whole "lags as badly as a 32-bit Server". I've even seen some people saying their experience for how the game was running on a 64-bit Server was "worse".

It's like how we see things now with 32-bit Servers, some people will discuss how they are "completely awful for gameplay" even when other people are stating things are fine.

Again 64-bit Servers won't be a massive improvement nor fix lag but it will help. Some players will 100% talk about how the game feels better and others will say, "This server runs even worse!".

64 bit will be better noticably but what is more huge is EU server will actually be in EU which will drastically change the ping delay issue
