Have you considered moving from Gladden to one of the new 64 bits servers? Most of the US population is now playing in Peregrim and Glamdring so being in one of those servers will increase your chances of finding more people to play together
The difference is simple: the game developers recently launched new servers with improved hardware and offered free transfers to them. This led many players to leave older servers like Gladden and move to the new ones: Peregrin and Glamdring.
Gameplay-wise, there’s no actual difference, the game itself is the same. However, the new servers have upgraded hardware.
The main difference you might notice is in the player communities: Peregrin tends to attract roleplayers (RP), while Glamdring is more focused on end-game content and raiding, both are very active having 1000+ players at peak.
Biggest difference is at some point, most likely this year the server you're on will be shut down.
Long term goal of shifting the population to 64bit servers is so they can shut down and get rid of the older 32bit ones.
Mini map and actual map work on a normal RL compass rose (N, S, E, W) concept. For the mini map you should see a pointer at the outer circle pointing towards which ever quest is the active one. Just go in that direction.
For the actual map an easy trick is to click on your character (like you were going to move) and then open up the map. You will now be able to 'twist' your map pointer (character) in the correct direction of the quest ring on the map. Close the map, your character is now pointing in the right direction and off you go.
