Rings of Power and LOTRO Question

Potentially returning player. Did the devs add in any Rings of Power stuff or have they just ignored that and stuck true to the original novels? IF so, about WHEN in the story/ content was this stuff added?

Not really. Nothing direct to be honest.

We got for example a "little bit" of Second Age Content showing off Celeborn, the fall of Eregion, and Sauron attacking but in a different format than what was seen with Season 2 of Rings of Power.

Some would say updates to how they are "Updating Avatars" is being negatively affected but other MMORPGs like SWTOR (Star Wars: The Old Republic) is also getting Avatar Updates that are also controversial but can't be stated that "other Star Wars media" is the cause.

To also address one of your questions. The game isnt solely based on the novels, be it LOTR or Tolkien's extended works. At this point, there is a decent amount that was made up by the devs. However, its worth noting that some of that content was developed by Turbine and later the Standing Stone Games team during that period up until around the late 2010s when the Tolkien Estate was still fairly heavy handed in their control over the Middle-Earth license and what they would allow to be made and released under that license.

LotRO is run by SSG

2 different companies and a quick way into a lawsuit if SSG stole things from Amazon.

Rings of power is not canon and just fan fiction it completely breaks the lore. I surely hope they do not insert any of that crap

Agreed. That's why the Amazon LOTR game will be a hot mess. Hopefully it brings more players here.
