It should be noted that, if memory serves, the version brought from the in-game store with points is only the expansion without any of the extras that come with purchasing the expansion for the website.
You are correct. The version in the ingame store is just the base version of the expansion.
Is this similar to SWTOR where the ones you listed as VIP/purchase, if I sub once they are unlocked forever, or does the sub need to be always active to retain those specific expansions?
SWTOR - sub once - you own the stuff
LotRO - sub - you're only renting the stuff.
When your sub ends you'll be able to complete any active quests or deeds in the 'rented' regions, but won't be able to start any new ones.
