Stuck at 88% (Solved)
As we all know, LOTRO servers weren’t working for a while. And since LOTRO doesn’t tell you its servers are down, and instead throws some gibberish at you to make you think your game boke, I wound up reinstalling the game thinking that it was a problem on my end. Now I can’t get it to work.

Its stuck at 88% patching some .bat files.

>Yes, I have tried reinstalling.

>Yes, I have the Microsoft redistributable from 2005, 2010, 2015, and DirectX installed.

>Yes, I have tried deleting the .dat/.datx files from the directory and the contents of the “downlaods” and “forward” folders in the directory.

>Yes, I have tried repairing the game from the launcher, it got stuck at the same point.

>Yes, I have tried downloading the game from the original website instead of Steam. The site doesn’t want to let me download it.

What else can I do? I’m sure somebody had this exact same problem since being stuck at 88% seems to be somewhat common.
And thanks.

Edit: I got it working. Sorry for the bother.
I deinstlled the game, deleted everything out of my LOTRO directory AND the Documents LOTRO folder. I disabled my Firewall and Antivirus. Downloaded the game, made sure both the Directory and Documents folders had full permission across all users, and I ran the launcher as administrator.
That wound up working.

People suggest using Revo Uninstaller free when uninstalling a game maybe try that then see if that works

- Many problems with the game stem from poor or faulty Network connection between your computer and the game servers near Boston, MA, USA. Read the sticky thread on the official forum, > Network and Game Connection Troubleshooting - Updated 1/19/2016

- LOTRO uses Akamai Content Delivery Network still so that could be a problem that you need to allow Akamai to work. Even updating the launcher calls to Akamai.
