The Lord of the Rings Online™

I hope too see all 1000 of you on Amazons LOTR MMORPG
I pray i need not wait 8+ years for it to be made but truly we been needing a new updated mmorpg with this IP, i couldnt even imagine trying to play this out till endgame content it would be cool to do things like kill the balgrog tho. I think i would play this game if it had like 300x exp boost at all times get me past the leveling stages where theres nobody

Frankly, thats not going to happen. Assuming the game even sees the light of day, only a portion of the players will even try it, and without a near flawless launch, will likely abandon it.

And if it launches like New World did (a game they knew very well want anywhere near ready for release.) its pretty much going to be dead on arrival.

I think if Amazon really takes what worked for LOTRO, and just revitalized the world with updated textures, animation, audio, smooth out the gameplay, and learn from their mistaken New World what works and what doesn't in an MMO and they could have something huge on their hands... Guild Wars 2 and WoW are also the next two big examples they should really try and take the pros and cons from and make the new LOTRO just the apex of what modern MMO's could be. I'm excited, and will gladly wait 5-10 years for it to be finished.

I have zero hope that an MMO made by amazon, that will most likely be based on their TV show will be any good

They do, they're called 'Valar Level Boost's' and you can use them to jump to level 95, 105, 120 or 130.

As far as Amazon goes, I'd say there's a 99% chance of it being a hot mess and dying quickly. Amazon's track record is pretty dismal and if the Rings of Power TV show is an example the game doesn't have much hope at keeping LOTR fans.

Depending on what they do with it, I would be willing to try it. However, based on ROP, I'm not optimistic with the direction they would take a LoTR game. I'm also not certain they can even turn out a game in the end, no matter how much time and money they put in to it.

They can definitely put out a Game, it's far more the "What will it be" aspect.

The Amazon LOTR MMO Launch + Content at Launch along with it's overall concept will be what makes or breaks it.
New World had at least two beta before the release, and they were not even able to get a proper lunch, they even spend a massive amount of money on dude on Twitch to get more player, and the game has lost most of it's player base.
When Amazon published Lost Ark they changed the skin color of many character and added censorship.
When they made The Rings of Power... Well, i dont need to explain this one.

Amazon is one of the worst publisher there is.
no chance an MMO from Amazon turns out worth investing time in. Sorry bruh
Been playing LOTRO for seventeen years and will be here till they shut the servers down.

Better graphics are not reason enough for me to go else where.

Also i made the mistake of working for Amazon, Lets just say not a good company to work for why in hell would i give them money?

The last attempt fell through when Leyou, which previously had the MMO rights, was acquired by Tencent in 2020. This prompted Middle-earth Enterprises to terminate the rights to the LotR licence, necessitating new terms. But Amazon and Tencent couldn't get on, so an agreement wasn't hashed out and the MMO was canned.May 15, 2023
Not a chance lol. If Rangz of Power are anything to go off of, I'll keep my arse in Middle Earth.

this 10000%
lotro isnt perfect but i doubt amazon is goin to give us so much lore and dialogue like lotro did, there wont be anything like lotro unless you get the right devs.

amazon is going to butcher lord of the rings hec they already did it.
Why bother, it will 100% be a re-skin of New World and will be completely dead within 2 years.
