First time player, captain question

I'm only a couple hours in. My goal is just to get more Lord of the Rings lore under my belt and just enjoy this game world. I solo mostly since I have to adult too much. After some research, it seemed like the Captain was the best fit for me as it seemed the most self sufficient.

To my question, I like the Captain, but the constant yelling before each fight it really annoying to me lol. Can you turn that off? If not I'm going to play another class. It bothers me that bad lol.

LOL, you could check in the Audio section of the in-game Options, use the Combat volume slider that can turn that down.

I'm sure that turns off ALL the combat sounds, though.

I haven't had any trouble being a solo player with any of the classes in this game.

I have the same problem with a ministrel. It's fun for a couple of min's and then I just go into audio and turn down the sounds.

There's a lot of different sounds options and I 'think' there's one for just your sounds, which would leave the rest of the combat sounds alone.

My Least favorite is every npc saying "Umbar is a free city at last"
But OP there's something you could try, hit Alt + R and there's 3 filters one for loot, one for quests and one for game sounds, I've actually blocked a few of these npc's from saying this but there's so many so I gave up
Anyway open it up and as any sound is used it'll show up in the list and you can block it there, so just do your yells on the Cappy and see if the audio file shows up in the list and block it

You can use alt-r to bring up a menu that allows you to mute specific sounds, just hit the record button use the ability that has the yell and it should show in the list, you can mute it there for just the character or your account.
