Rings of Power season 2
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCwmXY_f-e0

inb4 i don't think there should be problem if we talk about the show in the forum just for a bit, it's same universe, its lord of the rings etc just like people talked about Fallout Show in Fallout 4 forum or Castlevania netflix series in Castlevania forums or Resident evil movies in re4, re5 steam forum etc

- Ok somehow Sauron is back and now the lord of gifts is an Elf, something that Annatar was able to do so i guess this is +1 for amazon.
- There's a scene where the bridge of kazhad dum seems to be destroyed or its a similar bridge, maybe the balrog has awoken and dwarfs tried to block the path.
- The 180° shot to show all the "fellowship" of brave warriors led by galadriel was cringe, kinda like some "avengers" thing an overused cinematic shot ive seen multiple times in action movies etc maybe even in fast and furious.

- there's some kind of siege in Numenor
- I think "Adar" is now played by a different actor and its no longer Joseph Mawle, you can cleary see some kind of evil elve leading orcs in the trailer but that's not Joseph (Adar)
- No hobbitses in the trailer i mean, harfoots :steamfacepalm:

anyways looks interesting although trailer is being bombed, seems like people are not happy at all. The only reason why im going to watch it is cuz i enjoy LOTR, the rings of power season 1 was truly mediocre so i just watched that season once and no desire to watch it again, lets hope s2 is different and amazon learned something from its previous mistakes with season 1.

New trailer

edit: season 2 is out and seems like its getting mixed reviews so far no better than season 1, doesn't look promising for amazon.

I agree with just about every negative thing that has been said about RoP, but I can suspend my dislike and try to enjoy some parts of it. That being said, Morrfydd or whatever her name is, is so utterly detestable, so completely cringe, and so rat-like in appearance, I choose to root for Sauron.

Rings of power is absolutely horrific. The fact that anyone actually watched this show and thought it had any redeemable characteristics is beyond hilarious.

unlike many here i actually enjoyed Rings of Power season 1. is it 100% true to lore - god no - but i enjoyed it with my wife and kids whom arent huge lotr fans at all. It was also a fun series where i could discuss it with my in-laws, colleagues, etc where they absolutely dont care about general lotr outside of the show and movies.

generally speaking - the show - like acolyte in star wars - seems to be wideley disdained by the hardcores (and the ones nerdy enough to actually go and leave reviews / review bomb) but overall seems liked by the general audience.

i dont have any hope that s2 will be any more true to lore then the current s1 was and will likely continue to bend things or take liberties with the lore (whether thats because they dont have access to all the source material or for other reasons) and will again be hated by the hardcore community and generally liked by the rest. i fully expect to see this review bombed and villified.

I HATE THIS SHOW so much. I just reread the Silmarillion and Tales of Middle Earth. After that I wanted to sue Amazon for defecating on Tolkiens Grave....until I remember the main ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is his grandson......

Don't even give Amazon one minute of your watch time. Don't encourage the trainwreck.

The show is an absolute dumpsterfire devoid of any actual professionally written pacing, dialogue, likable characters, ANYTHING redeemable whatsoever.

Let it fail.

It's probably going to be a bigger piece of woke trash that's lore-unfriendly and an interpretation of Tolkien's work by the degenerate wokesters who want to push their degenerate woke propaganda. It's so sad and despicable that these imbeciles want to push agenda down people's throats, but they can't even come up with their own story and world, they have to use and abuse someone else's work and use it as a stepping platform and the end result is tainting this work with their disgusting filth.

WTF they are going to do a season 2 of Guyladriel serie?

Blame Simon not Amazon.

Probably part of it, but not all of it. Amazon isn't blameless. Stop defending a gigantic mega-corpo that literally doesn't give two flying wet farts about anyone. It wasn't Simon, as dumb as flawed as he is, that fired Tom Shippey. Amazon made that choice. That *one* choice alone doomed the entire project. Shippey was by far the best resource they had at their disposal to try and make an adaptation that didn't butcher lore and still maintained their weird goals that they set out to do, and they blew it.

It also wasn't Simon writing. Simon was a consultant. The writers on the show are the ones responsible for the atrocious dialogue, the absolute god awful pacing, and the nonsensical plot points.

Does Simon have blame? Yes. Does that absolve Amazon? NO.

So what you're saying is she's your average 21st century female television/movie character?

Entirely revenge driven, devoid of any character personality or depth beyond her revenge plot, warrior woman #7623, and faces no lasting consequences or repercussions for making stupid decisions that make others suffer. So basically, yes.
