generally speaking - the show - like acolyte in star wars - seems to be wideley disdained by the hardcores (and the ones nerdy enough to actually go and leave reviews / review bomb) but overall seems liked by the general audience.
i dont have any hope that s2 will be any more true to lore then the current s1 was and will likely continue to bend things or take liberties with the lore (whether thats because they dont have access to all the source material or for other reasons) and will again be hated by the hardcore community and generally liked by the rest. i fully expect to see this review bombed and villified.
YES, open wide so every inch of amazon's turd known as rings of power lands in yours and your families mouth.
"One of the most legendary elves in Middle-earth is finally coming to the screen in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. Entertainment Weekly can reveal that actor Ben Daniels will portray Círdan the Shipwright"

new photos but nothing surprising, it's like season 1 v2.
The show is an absolute dumpsterfire devoid of any actual professionally written pacing, dialogue, likable characters, ANYTHING redeemable whatsoever.
Let it fail.
Blame Simon not Amazon.

Probably part of it, but not all of it. Amazon isn't blameless. Stop defending a gigantic mega-corpo that literally doesn't give two flying wet farts about anyone. It wasn't Simon, as dumb as flawed as he is, that fired Tom Shippey. Amazon made that choice. That *one* choice alone doomed the entire project. Shippey was by far the best resource they had at their disposal to try and make an adaptation that didn't butcher lore and still maintained their weird goals that they set out to do, and they blew it.
It also wasn't Simon writing. Simon was a consultant. The writers on the show are the ones responsible for the atrocious dialogue, the absolute god awful pacing, and the nonsensical plot points.
Does Simon have blame? Yes. Does that absolve Amazon? NO.
Entirely revenge driven, devoid of any character personality or depth beyond her revenge plot, warrior woman #7623, and faces no lasting consequences or repercussions for making stupid decisions that make others suffer. So basically, yes.
