The only downside of having the same user name and password for multiple games / sites etc.... is if you get hacked on one they'll first try that stolen user name and password elsewhere and it will work.
In fact, for those two games they want you to make separate accounts (although it's possible to get the same login for both if you ask support). So if two games from the same dev want separate accounts I don't see why EQ would use the same login.
That's correct. Neither Turbine nor SSG ever had a 1 'company' login that could be used for any game.
You've always have had to create a DDO AND LotRO account if you wished to play both.
Now the username and password can be the same (as that's just tied to you via THAT game account), but the email addresses need to be different for each account. They no longer let you use the same email address for both games.
