First try running the turbinelauncher.exe from the LOTRO directory.
Maybe, you need to uninstall and reinstall, using the game launcher from LOTRO website.

I tried go to the directory and start from there but nothing happens, and i don´t think that installing from the LOTRO website directly is going to change anything.

you cant login right now. https://www.facebook.com/LOTRO/

"The LOTRO Game Servers will be brought down on Wednesday, March 30th from 7:00 AM - 10:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) for maintenance."

which server have you been trying? hope it was one of these:

US:

Arkenstone
Brandywine
Crickhollow
Gladden
Landroval (RE)

EU:

Belegaer (DE-RP)
Evernight (EN)
Gwaihir (DE)
Laurelin (EN-RP)
Sirannon (FR)

servers appear to be back up. try the network problems link. might also be graphics. what happens after select a server - nothing/just hangs or does the game window appear then disappear?
Thousen_Muchachos Mar 30, 2016 @ 7:48am
does nothing. I press the "play" button and then the launcher disappears and nothing happens.

And by steam it says in my library that im playing it but im not, because i never entered the game i can´t exit the game, and the steam thinks im playing :P

did you go thru the steps in the above link. steam says you are playing because the launcher is running - that is NOT the game. these should all be running
TurbineLauncher.exe
turbineclientlauncher.exe
lotroclient.exe
you need to make sure the permissions and ports amd firewall settings are okay for all three

look in the windows 7 event log - there may be an error msg there also

Is there some reason you don't think a non-Steam version of the launcher would work? Because through the years this game has been on Steam, the most common solution to any problem is to not play it through Steam. Sometimes a Steam related issue can be solved, but usually it's just much easier to play it outside of Steam. Most of the people that play do this.

hmm...maybe ill try it, but i started launching from the directory and not from steam, but maybe there are some files different if i download a non-steam version...ill check it out ;)

I know it's a pain, and it's possible it will not help. But it's usually the goto solution for problems with the Steam version of LoTRO. At least if it doesn't work, we can elminate Steam as the culprit and focus elsewhere.

I'm on W7 64 bit and my game functions perfectly (but I've never run it through Steam). Hopefully yours will, too. Let us know.
