As for the graphic update - it probably won't be what you're thinking of. The game is not suddenly gonna look like Black Desert Online or anything.
UI Work has no ETA on it nor have they said to what extent they will be doing such work. Going back to 2022 when LOTRO still had a Producer, they discussed this and that Internal & External Data showed that while Resolutions higher than 1920x1080 are growing, they are still very tiny minorities compared to how many folks are using a 1920x1080 Monitor for their Primary Display. This has been one key reason they have not felt it is urgent to get any form of major work out.
Graphics Update was something misreported by various Sources and has been debunked multiple times. LOTRO is always getting "Graphics Updates" when they change how their Visuals look with the last few years having a very unique Style for how the Content is look (check out Swanfleet, Cardolan and Yondershire for the most modern style being used. This is Low Level Content so easily accessible).
A key thing to note: LOTRO DOES NOT have uniform Graphics across the Game and they WON'T be getting them uniform anytime soon or ever.
LOTRO's Short & Long Term Plans for Graphics is basically along the following lines:
- Short Term: The SSG LOTRO Team are going to keep making New Content using the Current & Improving Visual Style with this Year having a New Gondor and later in Fall 2023 the Expansion taking the game to Umbar. This the a-typical way LOTRO's Graphics have been improved during it's soon to be start of 16 Years since Launch.
- Long Term: The SSG LOTRO Team's goal is to bring Older Content up to a more Modern Visual Standard akin to whatever Graphics are the main style at that time. This will NOT be a full pass of LOTRO and there is no timeline for when we could expect to see for example all of Eriador's Older Content being updated.
