Updating extremely slow

Seems like the game client downloads with max speed of 100kB/s. After the download it has to update and it takes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ forever to get through the 8029 "forward iterations" the client has to do.

It's almost like I'm back to 90's with how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow and ♥♥♥♥ the client is.

Yes, it it rather slow. Takes almost as long as it did to install the main game. Ya just gotta be patient.

It's getting on my nerves because the same issue has been around since the launch of the game in 2007 and those lazy bastards never fixed it.

Applying the forward iterations is directly related to the speed of your computer and disk drives - it is all being done locally.
The download is decrypted and then the patches applied.
