The current world tags are leftovers from that era and serve mostly as an indicator of what the most active time in that world probably is, and more technically as compatibility indicators (you can't transfer characters between US and EU worlds)
Maybe in 2025 or later but doubtful.
64-bit Servers will eventually in the future be rolled out to all Servers. This will "help" but it's to be seen how much the Main & Older Servers will be impacted.
The server has some issues and a few crashes so far, but gameplay is overall much better.
It is the first LOTRO Server hosted in Europe in over 13 Years.
A key thing helping the "Lag" on Mordor & Angmar are things they've done "behind the scenes" plus a lower amount of Character Data.
It's to be seen if 64-bit Servers, etc. will have the same impact for the Main Servers.
Latency/Ping is a tricky thing, it's really not what affects LOTRO.
I play on the USA-based LOTRO Servers and usually have a 40 to 47 ms Latency/Ping yet experience things just as anyone else does even the "Higher Pings".
This is due to the Game & it's Performance. It's where Angmar & Mordor are being called "Lag-free" as people aren't experiencing what they get on the Main Servers.
Angmar for example, the USA-based one, runs the same as Mordor. I've played on Mordor with a 127 ms Latency and if I didn't realize I was playing on the "Hosted in Europe" Legendary Server I'd swear it was Angmar.
