lotro on linux-where does my keyboard bindings backup file go?
ok, so i finally upgraded to linux. im not used to running lotro through steam, but thought id try supporting steam's proton. lotro is running great, but i do NOT use default keybindings. anyone know where the file should go for my old keybindings? on the client outside steam its in the user documents folder. i have located the lotro files under>
.steam / steamapps / common / the lord of the rings online

there is possibly another folder? im not sure if steam proton uses .wine which has a faux c/drive to run windows files. but nothing there.

should i just try tossing the keybind file into my user files folder?
i alsu use custom ui settings that u can save using /ui data save and /ui data load.

sry if this is super advanced. ive been playing this game quite a few years lol.

the files are:
UserPreferences.ini
and lotro.keymap

i didn't use any custom plugins. nvr could get them to work how i wanted.

did you make any custom scripts or anything else besides downloading lotro via steam and setting a compatibility tool? I'm asking because i'm having it shutdown when i try to launch it through steam.

nah. i just installed the high graphics and launched it. i ran it probably 15m on the login screen, logged into all my alts for my family members, and then logged into my main. i walked around S bree for like 5m and made sure i could chat, intereact, and move.

what linux distro do u have? im running pop!_os which already has the nvidia drivers installed. i hear thats a PAIN, and steam is a 1-click install from the pop shop.

ive done a lot more finangling in the turminal for other things lol and had my own crash course in things NOT to do unless u want to re-install pop lol. so getting good practice so far on linux. but im determined to make linux my main opperating system :)

also using Pop_os :'D so i dunno if this will be of any help to you, but i recently had to find a Paradox Interactive game "brain" folder that's outside the game install folder and the path was /home/(user name)/.local/share/Paradox interactive...

It's a bit of a pain sometimes searching for where the settings are since steam 'show in folder' takes me to the installation folder, which in many cases doesn't contain important files ... This was about a resolution I tried switching outside of game since it was bugged.

Other places might include /home/.wine/drive_c/...
Or /home/games/...

Yea it can be a pain sometimes searching for the files you need. :D

hahah. yeah. if u use wine i feel like everything gets unorganized. the .local/share is an important location to remember.

home/games is lutris's location looks like

i mostly use locate (sudo apt mlocate to install i think?) to locate in the termina. *always* look up commands when ppl tell u new ones tho. i think its "man [command]" to get a explaination on a new command. love that one too.
