Classes

Hi looking to start again with the new update next month and was wondering what people consider the 'best' classes. When I think 'best' I mean most fun, as opposed to raw damage output :P though I am open to any thoughts on the matter. The class I played originally ages ago was a dwarf guardian (Tank i think?). :)

"Best" Class for "Fun" is purely based on personal perspective.

Let's say an individual loves playing Solo/Singleplayer, exploring the World, getting around quickly on their feet but also would like Utilities such as Ports (Travel Skills), Skills to help locate Enemies, etc. The Hunter Class would be the best option & is also would be the recommended Class to play first if either playing LOTRO for the first time or just needing a refresher course in how the game plays.

Although with understanding other Classes won't have the same Benefits that the Hunter does.

Hunter might be too basic for some but majority of new players pick it because it's mostly the only class they know what it is. I recommend you just checking out all the info/videos game gives you on character creation and picking your poison that way. Magic classes are really fun to play and they have flashy attacks which are really nice to look at. The classes are split into DPS, tanks, healers and support, some being in multiple of those at once while some of the basic ones only fit a certain criteria. Although with the class revamp few years back they made all of them more versatile and player friendly so you should just pick whatever you think is gonna be fun and roll with it. You can always make more characters.

Cheers guys! :) On the fence between Rune keeper - lore master - man-bear-pig - minstrel (in that order). Kind of want to stick to one character, though from what I have read it seems to be pretty common for people to have a bunch of characters? o.O

Yeah, plenty of folks run multiple Characters with some having Dozens of Character on several Servers.

LOTRO while not a perfect game by ANY means is still a really great game due to allowing a lot of Playstyles even if some Playstyles aren't as favored.
