UI scale?
Is there a way to scale up the UI?
I am only using a 1680x1050 screen, but the text and everything else is almost unreadable tiny.
Couldnt find an option to scale it up.

Depending on which text, there are the following options:
The quest texts windows have an up/down arrow with 'Aa' next to it that can be used to change the font size.
The chat window has the option to customise font colour (right click on the 'General' tab). Here you can also change the font size for each type of message.
In the general options, under 'UI Settings' you can scale individual parts of the UI.

Only chat and quest text can be enlarged as far as I know, the rest cannot. So far the game does not offer UI scaling. Another solution would be to play on a lower resolution so the UI would look bigger.

i can change chat font size, quest text font size but the items in bags are still so small

LOTRO does offer a certain degree of UI scaling. It is in the Options->UI at the bottom of the list. I always make my Radar (minimap) larger and my Hotbars a little smaller. Not everything can be changed, but most can.

The lack of support for 4k or even 1440p monitors is astounding honestly. At this point it is a running joke.

Not a practical expectation. Just not financially feasible given the age of the game and the potential customer base such an investment would draw into the game.

4K & UI Work are on the horizon, this was confirmed in the latest LOTRO Executive Producer Q&A Stream.

Many things are "...on the horizon...". I would hope that the Server-Side Lag would be the #1 priority before any graphic updates. The developers reported identifying two major lag points on the server, let's hope they are able to correct the situation quickly. :)

One of those things, Delvings, is getting it's Performance Update here on June 27th, 2023 so we'll be able to see that day and the rest of the week afterwards if it truly has helped.

Text size is ridiculously small with any modern resolution in 2024 still; is there no fix?
Kormach Mar 24, 2024 @ 12:47pm
Nope. They say it is something they plan on working on at some point.

Don't feel bad, lol 15+ year veteran didn't see it either, plus I only just started playing on a 5120*1440 screen so all text needs a magnifying glass to read..lol
