VIP (one month only) ?... keep this in mind
In reading and study, a YouTuber mentioned something interesting.

If you plan on one time (one month) VIP, consider this:
- you get the riding skill during your VIP time and it will stay with you after VIP.

*But only for characters reaching level 20*.

Before you VIP, level as many characters as you can to level 20 and get your riding skills for each, before your time expires.

Also, after VIP expires you will loose many quest, It seems you may need to purchase quest packs (unsure of details).

The good news, you keep your inventory space.

Waiting has other advantages:
- This game tends to get boring fast.... See how you feel.
- You will find most are max level players, very few lower end players, ALL SERVERS, I checked !...... Don't let anyone tell you different.... See for your self !

Very deceptive payment model.... Study EVERYTHING, before diving deeper !

To clarify, VIPs have a quest they can do at level 20 in Bree-land that rewards them with the riding trait, so you need to level the characters to level 20 and then do that quest. Just being level 20 won't do anything.

While you're VIP you have unlocked access to every non-expansion "quest pack". After VIP ends you can't start any new quests and deeds in those regions, but you can finish the ones you've already started.

You also retain swift travel on all characters logged on during the VIP month (the only feature that is only unlockable by becoming a VIP at some point), and trait slot unlocks (I believe it unlocks each of them when you reach their level, even if you weren't at that level when you were VIP), and the gold cap removal, and you get access to a couple more character slots when you get downgraded to premium, but characters created on the extra character slots that VIP gets on top of premium will be locked.

Same poster, same rants with a new twist. Source is a random unlinked Youtube video.

It's quite clear what the benefits and drawbacks are of VIP.

And has been for years.

Thank you.... much better explanation :)

I would like to add,
Character slots are added, not to be confused with Warden and Ruin-Keeper class, they will need to be purchased in the store or comes free with one of the expansions.

WoW, this sounds important.

Why are you responding to yourself?

Runekeeper and warden are included in the Moria expansion, but only if bought with points ingame now. The expansion trove version doesn't include the classes anymore.

Are you going to rehash your points, then delete the thread when you don't like the answers, and start over again?

The riding trait is 95 LP per character if you buy it from the store. Or some 1995 points if you buy it account wide. (That's for every character you'll ever make on any server)

You will lose 2 character slots when you go back down from VIP to Premium, so if you use all your slots, you will be locked out of 2 characters until you have those slots again.

All trait and skill slots on the characters you played while VIP will stay unlocked.

BTW, the official LotRO subscription type comparison chart is outdated; the level cap is 130 right now (for everyone. There is no restriction on that for F2P)
