Lotro points or Subscribe?

I played back in 2013 and spent $60 on turbine points. I apparently now have a premium account which i’m guessing is from me purchasing the points in the past. I do also own the Moria Expansion. Is it even worth it to subscribe to be a VIP or should I just spend money on lotro points since they do have a double bonus point offer currently and should i use those towards other expansions? Also, when expansions go on sale, are you able to purchase them with lotro points or is it real money only? Thank you all!

They go on sale for points too. The problem is you have to decide to use the points for quest packs, full expansions, or expansion quest packs/instance clusters.
You have to remember that subbing only unlocks non-expansion quest packs WHILE subbed. While buying them with points unlocks them permanently, and subbing or not you still you have to buy the expansions with points, or the expansion trove bundle in the official site.

In all honesty, I'd say it depends on you.

If you only play on subbing for a month, and are just looking at for from the points perspective, you can probably get the 500 point that you would with the sub or more for the same price.

From a game play point of view it depends on where you're at in the story line. If just starting out with all those lvl 1 to 50 regions in front of you, than a sub would open all those up for you. Same for post Rohan play as it goes back to regions that open via a sub.

If you're knee deep in the expansions; Mirkwood to Isengard to Rohan to Helm's Deep than that sub isn't going to open up any of those and you'd need to buy them anyway.

Remember that if you do sub, you get 500 points a month also.

I suggest subbing at least for a month ONCE you have plenty of characters already, simply to unlock all the locked slots for them, as those are really point hungry if you try to buy them. Otherwise just keep farming points and perhaps buying them on sales, but you'll see how fast you can achieve them by just playing the game or even farming.

That would cost you A LOT of money. Since you only get 500 per month and new quest packs alone cost 2000, with expansions going even higher. Only old quest packs are 495.
