When will LOTRO shut down?
^ per title. I understand that the game has reached Mordor by now? Are they planning to release future expansions for other areas of the game? Or is the game in maintenance/milking mode?

I looked on the official website and saw only TWO DEV DIARIES for the whole of 2018, and NONE in 2019 (look for yourself - https://www.lotro.com/en/news/developer-diaries ). I don't want to play a game that is closing :(

They've already released post Mordor area's so it'll be here for awhile longer.

Personally I'd rather have the Dev's working on the game, than telling me they're working on the game. The lack of Dev diaries in no way shape or form let's one know about the games status. The releasing of new content on the other hand does,

It will shut down when it is no longer profitable.

But that's not information that we have access to, so no one can answer your question.

Have a great day!

The SSG development team are currently working on a 64 bit LOTRO client, which could potentially support future updates to graphics and other game elements. With the ever advancing capabilities of gaming PCs making features like up to date and attractive graphics important, that could help to draw in new customers.

As well, the Legendary servers are just about to unlock the 1st expansion; Mines of Moria. With many more expansions to come which would require at least 2 more years to release, I'm optimistic the game will be around for at least that long.

Like really? there will be at least 2 major updates this year like every year
Vales of Anduin is the next region - it should come out within several months - likely 1-2

Thanks. Seems like I linked incorrectly to an old page or something that they no longer update.

The producers letter confirmed Anduin as well as a full Minas Morgul expansion pack. This week the stream confirmed the 64 bit client will be beta tested within ~three weeks.

Great game, it's not dying. Not for a few more years at least.
