PatchClientDll::CheckDatFiles failed any fix?
I keep getting this error when I try to launch the game. I tried reinstalling, and deleting the files
client_highres_aux_1.dat
client_highres.dat

no luck.
does anyone know what to do?

Edit: Fix by completly removing all the lotro files. not just uninstall the game, but remove every single file. then redownload, and it should work

(windows 10, PC)

Read the logs in the LOTRO folder and find the failures, delete those files that fail.

read this link > http://archive.lotrocommunity.eu/technical-assistance-forum-737/466158-unable-decrypt-de-serialize.html

https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthread.php?548501-Still-can-t-play-Stuck-trying-files-patchclientdll-checkdatfilesf-ailed-unable-to-decrypt

Try going thru the logs and find the file you get an error at then delete that file, restart the lotro launcher

c:\users\myid\appdata\local\the lord of the rings online

example "
TTEPatchClient.log had these lines
DiskCon::InitFile: Warning: datfile "client_sound_aux_1.datx" did not contain any GUID version stamp information!
000000000.000: CompoundDiskController::Initia lizeExtent: Extent stamp mismatch.
000000000.000: CompoundDiskController::Initia lizeExtents: Failed to open extent file client_sound_aux_1.datx

Uninstall, then delete the folder you had it installed to. This ensures that you have a clean installation when you reinstall. This fixed the problem for me.

I decided to give LOTRO a go. I ran into this problem upon initial install. No LOTRO for me!

I had the exact same issue, however, after resetting my whole PC (for another reason) I attempted to reinstall it and it was a success! Basically, you somehow need to get rid of all of LOTROs files, possibly through one of the fixes explained above.

I'm having issues with this currently. I've redownloaded the client highres datx1 file no go. I don't know where to go to check logs to see if there is any other file that is having the same issue. I really want to try this game but as it stands I cannot play it.

Octopus, I finally got my wife to agree to trying a game with me. She chose LOTRO. I went through all the fixes I could find for about an hour last night. Ultimately, she told me to try Secret World Legend instead. I've played LOTRO when it launched and really wanted her to experience it. If you have any luck, please post back. I tried everything I could think of.

we found the solution, its written above :)

You need to completly remove all the lotro files. not just uninstall the game, but remove every single file. then redownload, and it should work
