HdRO startet nicht: PatchClient DLL Fehlermeldung

Seit dem letzten Patch kann ich HdRO nicht mehr starten. Habe bereits neu auf Steam heruntergeladen, ohne Erfolg. Firewall und Virenscanner sind deaktiviert. Es kommt weiterhin die Fehlermeldung im Loginfenster:

Bei der Aktualisierung ist ein Fehler aufgetreten:
PatchClientDLL:: CheckDatFiles fehlgeschlagen. [Die Entschlüsselung und Deserialisierung der vom Server heruntergeladenen Daten ist nicht möglich.]

Hat jemand eine Idee?
Spiel wurde auf Steam gekauft und habe bereits zweimal neu heruntergeladen / installiert.

Habe jetzt das Spiel über die Offiziele Seite von Ltro geladen und nun funktioniert auch alles.

I was just like you, guys. I tried everything but nothing worked. The only way is to repair the game. To do that, you need to open your game launcher and then... well, take a look by yourself:

Don't touch anything else! It has nothing to do with the Hi-Res files, you can keep those files.
I hope it works for you all and have fun!

Auch in 2023 kommt dieser Fehler vor, hier gibt es mind. 1 Option um den Fehler nach dem herunterladen zu beheben.

Option 1.
- geht im Launcher auf den " kleinen Pfeil (unten) " -> oben Rechts neben "minimieren", wählt hier "Optionen" -> Reparieren (im Reiter "Reparieren")

Option 2.
- im Spielordner findet sich eine Datei mit dem Namen (client_surface_aux.datx).
Sowie (client_surface_aux_1.datx) und (client_surface_aux_2.datx).

Die wahlweise LÖSCHEN oder umbennen mit zb. (.OLD) nach der Datei-Endung.

This error also occurs in 2023, here there is at least 1 option to fix the error after downloading.

Option 1.
- Goes in the Launcher on the " small arrow (down) " -> top right next to "minimize", selects here "Options" -> Repair (in the tab "Repair").

- in the game folder there is a file with the name (client_surface_aux.datx).
As well as (client_surface_aux_1.datx) and (client_surface_aux_2.datx).

Optionally DELETE or rename them with e.g. (.OLD) after the file extension.

Habe das selbe Problem und als ich googelte und hier reinschaute las ich irgendwo das der 64bit Client ned geht oder ned unterstütz wird oder so auf jedenfall irgendwas übern 64 bit Clienten.
Habe eben auf 32 bit Clienten umgeschalten und nun startet das Game.
Ich schreibe es wenn irgendwelche anderen Probleme dadurch entstehen

Ach hab was vergessen :) hab davor das Spiel deinstalliert und den Rest manuell entfernt. Also den Ordner im Steamordner. Unter Dokumente hab ich nix gefunden.
Danach hatte ich das Game neuinstalliert und erst dann auf 32 Bit umgestellt.

Thanks a lot ! Really appreciated. It's been days I've been trying to install 3rd party Microsoft tools like Vcredist (2005 ?? O.o).

Obviously, Steam assets for LOTRO are corrupted when it comes to Windows 11.

Deleting the files you mentioned in Option 2 (client_surface.datx, client_surface_aux_1.datx and client_surface_aux_2.datx) solved it for me.

I was having the same error as OP : patchclientDLL:: not able to encrypt/decrypt and validate dat files (or something of that kind). I tried deleting that DLL file, or renaming it, but nothing worked.

I have found dozens of threads with no solutions, on Steam, Reddit and even on LOTRO forums. You're the only one with the "correct" answer that solves that bug in 2023 with newer computers than what used to launch LOTRO in 2005 lol.

Thank you again for sharing your fix !and letting us old LOTR fans be able to play again some LOTRO :)

Moin moin Ringfreunde,

hatte die letzten Monate diverse Probleme unter Windooof 10 und 11 und natürlich viele Vorschläge umgesetzt....
Letztendlich habe ich die einfachste Option selbst herausgefunden: Unter Steam frisch installiert und es startete wie immer nicht....

Anschließend habe ich den Installer von der LOTRO.COM Homepage runtergeladen und mit der lotrolive.exe erstmal in einem separaten Ordner installiert. Anschließend mal gestartet und siehe da, der Launcher startete fehlerfrei.

Diese installierten Dateien habe ich komplett kopiert und in den Steam Installations Ordner kopiert und ersetzt. Seither startet das Spiel auch ganz normal über Steam. Hat zumindest bei so funktioniert....

ich habe das Problem das seitdem Patch also letztem Update das Spiel HDRO immer wieder beim Spielen abstürzt, einfach auf einmal weg ist ,ein kurzes stehen bleiben vom Spiel ,aber nur ganz kurz und sehe meinen Desktop!! Woran könnte das liegen??eine alte Installation??
