Warden or Captain, High Elf or Man?
I really am torn between these classes and races, I'd like to get your opinions.
Does the 5% Light Dmg of High Elves really matter for Wardens? It probably does not for Captains but IDK.
I heard that Wardens are not wanted in group content, even as tanks, any truth behind this?
People tell me cappie has the worst DPS except for maybe Guardians but with my lvl 25 Cappie I did not suffer from it, will I ?

Aren't Cappies mainly considered a support class?

Honestly I've seen cappies do about any role.

Warden i cant remember sorry But Captain Man for sure.Maybe the people that complaine about cappy DPS didnt know how to play that character properly. If you keep doing what your doing you will not suffer with cappy.
Good luck an have an awesome day

Wardens, with their gambit system, are too difficult for many players to play in the Tank role. so they are DPS with more survivalability, which probally lags way behind the Hunter and Champion.
Nothing beats the Guardian played as a Tank in the tank role. If High Elves get light damage buff then that would be helpful playing a warden or captain which both classes have some attacks that cause light damage.

Yeah the High Elves get a 5% light damage buff if they slot the trait, but is it that important? Maybe for wardens since their AOEs and a good number of single target skills use light damage but cappies? They only have battle shout, routing cry and blade of elendil?
The reason I'm torn between High Elves and Men is the fact that I don't really like how LOTRO implements Elves in general. I find them ugly, which should not be the case and I also find them a little umm "feminine". Not because of the lack of beard no, because of their posture, run/combat animations and all the stuff. Man on the other hand, look solid and strong. Elves are very thin.

Elves are supposed to be more elegant and slighter of build than men.
If you pick a heavy armour class, you won't see much of them anyway, so it won't matter :-)
High elves have even worse animations than elves though, so you might just want to go for man.

The light damage bonus is great for minstrels, but high elves also get a +5% sword damage bonus I believe.
Man gets that +5% sword damage bonus for sure.

There is a lot of different group content. For some top-tier challenge content some classes will be shunned. (Even desired classes, but with the 'wrong' setup will be rejected).

That doesn't mean you can't/won't run group content though.
