Well, I love when they say "we got developers that did work on X Y or Z". I can find people that did work on projects but didn't write a single line of code, or that didn't anything instrumental to the success. The equivalent of the guy that bench all year long in NBA, play 2 matches and in the end his team wins the championship; so he brag about winning a NBA championship.

Being from Amazon, probably they will work those devs to death, so the game may pop up pretty soon. After all even LOTRO at launch was not finished...took 10 years to get to Mordor; so I am not that concerned.

I just hope that the devs from LOTRO will release a patched version to allow players to play solo; no more LOTRO but at least we can play over and over again the thousands of quests and visit awesome places.

Hope not; but considering the population, the fact that the game is F2P and that the amazon MMO will probably be subscription based to start with, and rely on the tv show; I am not sure how much income LOTRO will see.

Probably I could bring up most of the titles released in the past 25 years, as example of how your statement is true only if you are being sarcastic, but I think that there is no need for that :)

I love Amazon and all but there is still a lot we don't know. I'm pretty happy with where I am right now and don't see myself leaving SSG or LOTRO anytime soon.

The 'official' reports have been all over the place, but the one thing they seem to have in common is the game won't recover the content in LotRO. You have a) it'll be in support of the new TV show - so pre-LotRO, b) it'll be set in a different age and c) it'll be 'people's, place's and creature's not seen before'.

Cordovan has already said this new one won't stop LotRO and the fact that there's already 2 D&D games running (DDO and Neverwinter), pretty much says that 2 LotR games could run at the same time too.

True. The market has shown that it's big enough for 2 D&D games which can't be a bad thing. That's a great point that I had not considered. I wonder how many play both.
