Most of the players don't play it through Steam. While it doesn't have a population as high as WoW, it has a good ammount of players (and I don't play on the highest pop server). Now that there is a new expansion, lots of players came back to play, so the population is specially high these days.

Whats your opinion on the best server?
Anonimatus Aug 27, 2017 @ 6:03pm
People say that the server with the highest population is Arkenstone. But I guess the quantity of player isn't the major thing to look, but the quality of the community of players. I like the server I'm playing on (Gladden), but as I never played on the other servers available, I can't really say which one is better.

I'm playing on Crickhollow. I started on Gladden, transferred to Brandy (when we had free transfers) and then paid to transfer 9 chars to Crick. It was expensive, but I don't regret it, Crick is a great nieghborhood. :)

The most populated EU server is Evernight, if you're not from US

You'll still find a lot of Russians on Brandywine (US) o-o

Game is dead by any reasonable standard.

Game quality is Beta level, tons of glitches liek falling through the ground.

Graphics are ok if it was still 2007/2008 but 10 years have gone by...

And they have the most sensitive GM's probably in the business. Not only do they ignore feedback like virtually every game, they just flat out delete posts/threads on their forums

Yeah the game is kinda empty compared to other games, it has constant lag issues because it still runs on 32 bit client, and the GMs are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they can ban you for saying something that will offend every libretard. I still play the game and enjoy it but it's really outdated.

What you said doesn't make the game be classified as "dead". What matters is if there are still a good ammount of people playing it. And it actually has a good ammount of pop (enough to feel as a MMORPG).

It isn't dead but when people come from other huge mmos it would be considered dead. I still see tons of people on the game though and chat is usually never quiet unless it's late.

LOTRO is NOT Dead. Maybe seems like it to some people that are only used to other huge MMOs.
I transfered from Dwarrowdelf to Gladden and i am happy with the community level there. I am NOT a raid and skirmish crazy person, so i don't care about the pugging population.

Mordor has brought me back after 3 years away. Loving it again and can clearly see on Laurelin it's buzzing with people :)

What a dumb comment, the last few updates have seen thousands of people return to arkenstone server alone, some having been away for 7+ years
They guy just loves to ♥♥♥♥ on LOTRO on every post. Better to just ignore him :)

with thousands you mean as 100-200 as much?
this game is almost dead, with last update they finally killed pvmp and make the game more p2w, lots of bugs, exploits...gms ignored you or take much time for anything
idk why i cant give my oppinion, lots of fanboys and ♥♥♥♥ here i guess...... you guys probably got more reason than someone with 4600 hours + lots of hours before steam :)
anyway if you decide to play best server is arkenstone
cheers
