Ok well what have you done? Doesn't work doesn't really tell us much mate.

Going through the forum, only suggestions are load the turbine file from the directory, which I tried, or a reddit post suggests taking a course in programming to fix. I was just cranky and wanted to offload, hence the post. Will look at it tomorrow when I have had a snickers. Prob try reinstalling then.

Epicurus Jul 10, 2017 @ 3:00am
Win 10, it is the MSVCP and MSVCR file problem a couple of people have had I think.

Awesome let me know if that works for ya mate. If not I'll google around some myself. I ain't doing anything except reading the forums right now while reinstalling some games. I am on Win 7 myself so wasn't aware Win 10 had issues with this game until now. I shouldn't be suprised though every new os has some issues at some point with older titles. Hope that fixes it for ya though mate. :steamhappy:

Ok, this is the link for anyone that needs it

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/confirmation.aspx?id=5555

I downloaded the 64 bit one initially, but that didnt work, the 32 bit version does the trick.

A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine. :(

Nothing I followed from other online threads worked, however like 5 mins after posting my issue on here I scroll and woowzasss here is your post. I'm a tad dramatic..... anywho.. THANK YOU, I'm back in bussiness. <3

some users download the game and it runs. others have to do all kinds of other steps. depends on your OS, other programs, security, network, libraries, graphics, hardware. these two artlicles might help:

1) Your LOTRO install has a '3rdparty' folder, you will find said file there
2) On almost all windows, right click said file and 'Run as Administrator' - or it will look like it is running but will not install
3) There is a second file there as well, same as first but ending in 'SP1' so run that as admin next
Enjoy!

On a clean W10 install you will need to run the DirectX installer from the Microsoft website too before everything works.
