The Lord of the Rings Online™

Questions about LotRO
1. Do you have companions (NPC's that help fight)?
2. Player housing?
3. Able to change classes (or play different classes on the same character)?
4. Does it have the holy trinity (Tank/Healer/DPS)?
5. Action combat?
6. Active block mechanics (like Tera or ESO)?
7. Lot's of things to do besides PvE or PvP?

1. Yes. Both Captains and Lore-Masters get companions.
2. Yes there's player housing. You can buy a house from Bree, Shire, Ered Luin or Durins Hall. There is lots of customisation with player housing.
3. Umm no. You can change you trait tree (practically whether you want to play DPS, Tank or Healer)
4. Yes.
5. Please define action combat.
6. Sort of?
7. There's dailies (includes crafting, or Feature Instance dailies which reward you.) there is also a tone of deeds to complete which give you LOTRO points which can be used to buy expansions, more classes, items and practically everything. You can even play music/songs in LOTRO.

Action combat like Blade and Soul, Terra, Black Desert Online, Neverwinter, Revelations Onlne, Vindictus, GW2 and/or Wildstar.

So, rather than tab targetting and clicking on abilities that hone in on your target and hope that your stats are high enough to hit; you have to aim your abilities, and dodge/ block your enemies abilities.

Also, so far this game sounds worth downloading, I might just look past it if it's not action combat.

Combat is like WoW/EQ2.

Yeah it's target lock on. The combat feels very nice in my opinion, although it's 'oldschool'.

Yeah, I downloaded the game and immediately realized nothing changed (in the starting zone) from when I first played it five or so years ago: The character creation, the graphics, the combat, the initial quests, and even the UI.
I'll still try the game out tho, I like that they added more things to the game.

Is that like a temporary pet?

Well you're in luck. Within the next couple months Lotro is expected to add new graphics for all races, including more features I believe. And they are also expecting to release a new playable class 'High Elf' which everyone is really confused about.

Sweet, I'll stick around then.
