The Lord of the Rings Online™

achievements?
Well I'm actually installing the game and haven't played it yet however I would like to know if there would be any talk about possibly adding any steam achievements to the game? To me I think it'd be a pretty cool idea although others might not think so. In a way it's like seeing how much a player has progressed throughout their gametime lol. You know the kind of achievements like How many orcs you can kill, or characters you unlocked, reaching up to a certain level, maybe even how skilled you are in terms of weapon usage. I'm a FPS and earning achievements is kind of a deal for me so playing this game will be a task for me to overcome lol :)

take the game as is. i don't think the devs will ever put steam achievements in. If they didn't do it the first two years on steam then most likely never going to happen.

LOTRO has plenty of in-game achievements called Deeds for you to finish and many have some nice in-game rewards.

Titles are the LotRO achievements. You can earn a lot of titles. Only thing is, you won't see them listed (You only see the current title someone uses) in-game.

Oh, and horses :-)

Titles and horses...

I never understood the idea of achievements in Steam. For me it's just a platform to buy games on. I don't care about showing someone outside the games itself how good/bad/far I am in a game. (Although I like the forums :-))

Steam Achievements aren't strictly about showing off though. Depends on how you view it. Ultimately, there is no reward for getting all achievements of a game on Steam other than the personal satisfaction, and that's why most people care about achievements in the first place.

About LotRO, the first reply sums it up I suppose.

The collections as a whole though. :)

Though why they don't list EVERY horse in the game beats me...
