Similar only in that you can race on land and in water. Other than that it doesn't even seem close. You can't copyright the idea of switching between racing on land and on water (or air). If you could copyright those types of ideas SEGA would get sued by Nintendo for making a racing game where you get items and shoot them at other racers (Mario Kart).

In order for this to be a copyright violation, the game has to be completely duplicated.

The whole racing on land, water or through the air thing has also already been done by Diddy Kong Racing, several years before Hot Wheels Extreme Racing came out (although in that case, you couldn't switch mid-race, but still...).

Having some issues getting into the game(technical errors), but, ironically, isn't there a hotwheels vehicle or something in the game? I thought I saw a Hotwheels copyright on the splash screen.

i know for that, but for this question, i ask, the gameplay is similar, can we call copyright infringement?? just it,
GreenSwede 5. juli 2013 kl. 17.48
You can't call it copyright infringement just because some gameplay aspects look similar.

I want to ask, what conditions make that a game violates copyright?

The exact code of the game, as well as every single aspect of the gameplay, has to be copied with either no or just minimal alterations. In this case, it's a solid no. In fact, if you tried to sue SUMO, you'd just get laughed at(Possibly even by the judge). There's no case for infringement here.

Nope. Code just has to be. Gameplay is a concept, and is shared freely. There were many final fantasy-type games when the genre was popular, but no one was sued for those. Same with rip-offs of Modern Warfare. If they used actual assets from the game, that would be one thing. But just being similar in the gameplay department is childishly weak.

Transformed has differences, by the way:

1. Airplanes
2. Actual physics (mostly effects boat controls)
3. Dynamic stages
4. Drifting
5. Stunts
6. A variety of game modes, including battle modes.
