Stunt failed although not pressing any stunt buttons
So, any other people here who are experiencing some weird problem with the stunt system which sometimes just goes batty although you don't press any buttons besides direction+acceleration? Seriously have no idea why this game sometimes tries to perform stunts although I did not press anything.

Am I missing another game mechanic here or is that a bug?

The controller itself is fine, had no problems in other games.

Is this a extra trick tacked onto the trick you intended to be your last or does this happen when not even touching the trick "button" at all?

I am not pressing anything at all. The trick buttons are the 4 directions on the right analog stick, aren't they? Or is there another trick button which I am not aware of?

I've been having this problem too... really frustrating when you're in the lead only to see your plane start wigging out for no reason. I did some testing and it seems like it's a result of the insane amounts of vibration... looks like it's setting off the right stick. Turned off the vibration and didn't have any problems.

For the record, I'm using a fairly new PS3 controller with MotionInJoy, casting it to a 360 controller. Admittedly that sounds kind of bad in retrospect but it's never failed me in the past.

Oh heh, if it's just happening on it's own and if you know how to, just increase the deadzone on your controller's right analog stick.

Yeah, there are definitely ways around it so it's not too big of a deal right now... very strange though considering many other games make use of vibration and I've never seen this sort of thing before. I'd be interested to see if it's just isolated to a few equipment scenarios or perhaps something they can fix internally.

Hello there, I just fixed this problem by disabling the invertion of stunt moves in the ingame options menu (under controls). anyway, thanks for the help.

I've also had a problem where stunts would fail for no reason. Is there some sort of system I'm not aware of that causes them to fail? I've played on the 360 and would have them fail after flipping too much, but here after only a couple flips they'd fail.

No idea what's causing it, or if it's related to this at all.

I haven't had this issue, I also remapped my stunts to the D-pad. I've had cases where the stunts are failing because i'm pressing the stunt at the very top of the ramps before I go airborne though.

same is happening to me. I Have even changed the deadzone to 90% without luck. I'm going to change to the triangle (using ds3 emulated to a 360 controller) for back flips and leave out the rest as i don't need them. Let's see what happens.

Just detected theat you need Y for team racing so changed it to the R3 button and it works great. Turned of vibration because it has a little effect on the left stick too

I tried remapping the stunt buttons as well, but I also had to shut off the right stick in motionjoy in order for it to work. Otherwise, the problem persisted.

I had the same Issue, and the solution as well !!
Use this application instead of motioninjoy, and the stuntfailed bug goes away :)
