Dumb question, but how do you drift?

I feel dumb for asking this considering I've almost figured out the rest of the control scheme, but does anyone know how to drift/boost in this game?

Also, is there a training mode? I searched everywhere but couldn't find it. Just asking because there was one in the last game.

Edit: I probably should have mentioned that I'm just playing with a keyboard and that's it. :/

left trigger and a direction on 360 controller

I didn't see any tuts or controller schematics....weird huh. Had to exit the game and go into controller options to figure out it was default brake/drift/reverse trigger...though the settings label it as left bumper, which is actually left 360 trigger.

Something the game doesnt tell you unless you get a random hint is that you can change direction mid drift. To do this, while in a drift quickly release the left triggger, press the analogue stick in the opposite direction then press the trigger again.
You can chain drifts like this to reach the Sonic Drift quite easily, and it makes twisty tracks much easier!
