Trick to drifting?
Just got this game, kind of annoyed there's no tutorial.

How do you drift? it seems like you keep holding down on accelerate, then turn and hold the L button. I'll see those sparks coming out the back but sometimes it doesn't do anything, and other times I get a slight boost.

Whole holding the acceleration button also hold the brake button at the same time to drift. You can then controll the drift a bit with the direction buttons. The longer you drift the bigger the boost which are seperated into Boost Level 1,2 and 3

You can also drift when you drive a plane

When Im trying to drift, the camera automatically switches to the rear view. Which is so annoying that I can not work with the drift function. How can I manage the buttons that only drift is activated and not rear view the SAME time?

What are you using for input?

Playing on PC with an USB Joystick and Xpadder (A software which translates key bindings to any joystick). In the Game menu there are functions on 1 key: brake, reverse & drift. I need a way to seperate those 3 functions.

You can't as they are the same function.

Check in game controls for 'rear view' so you can track down where the problem is. If you don't use rear view at all just clear it so it can't be triggered.

Riggedi, try using x360ce instead of xpadder. I got it working on my generic PS3 controller without issue.

Checked or cleared? If the latter then... Wth?

Test with keyboard to see if same happens. If not then try what Smash said.

Ok now I got it! This game did not need Xpadder at all to my surprise. I turned it off, reset the joystick configuration and BAM it works. Thanks guys for all your answers!

This drifting in "Transformed" version... I've played previously in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and it was more useful - time to "launch" first level of boost was shorter, and drifting wasn't slowing you down so much as in this version. And while I was using drifting (or rather boost basing on drift) on almost every big turning in "previous" part, in this I've almost completely stopped using it. Characters with high level of "boost" statistic aren't helping.

Boost is the most significant stat, followed by speed. You don't understand the game at all if you think boost is negligible.
