Still broken; ignore fake fixes

Anyone who says they fixed this is lying; I am a computer technician by trade and I have tried all known fixes on the windows platforms and I can safely say this is broken I will update this post daily to keep people informed. Do not fall for fake fix hype! This game was working before the 8th of December! (please note I have not tested Linux platforms or Steam Deck.)

No it still claims it is running even though its not ... its a bug in latest update which implies they broke it on purpose right after sale.

I'm not lying when. I say this, but I had the same exact issue. Until, I deleted the install script in the folder the game is being kept. That fixed the issue for me, if it doesn't fix the issue for you that's fair. But for me that fixed the issue where it said it was already running. I'm not trying to say that you don't know what you're doing. I'm sure you do and that you have tried all possible fixes. But for me that's what worked and allowed me to play this game that, I got as a christmas present.

I ran into this issue myself on my brand new Windows 11 computer yet it fixed itself the moment I went into the game's files and set Compatibility Mode to Windows 7 for both exe files. That was all I did and the game's worked fine for me ever since.

Update: But fixed today with Windows 7 Compatibiltiy Mode 👌

Can confirm I just bought this and Sparky was right. I right click on the game went to local files and deleted the installscript.vdf file and the game booted up no problem if you think this is B.S I just played for about 30 minutes and have two achievements. Thanks Sparky I just sent you an award.

What level Microsoft technician are you ? I have Sanjeet on the phone, and he claims there's no crashes so far with this.

I have no clue what are you talking about. All you have to do is to put the Launcher exe to Windows 7 compatibility in the game folder, and it will work.

Not sure if anyone can help me but the game will randomly flash a white screen during a race for a few secs then go away like nothing happened. i haven't seen anyone else with this issue and its super frustrating.

That fix doesn't seem to work for everybody. For some computers it still crashes even after turning on administration mode in the compatibility settings.

I have that issue as well. Not sure what causes it.

I believe this is something related to the NVidia drivers. It happens to me and many other people, near or in the water parts.
And you have to be thankful, because for some people the game simply crashes.

Hello everyone, I'm Brazilian and the solution that worked for me is to set the executables to read-only mode! Maybe it will work for someone else... So go to the local or installed game files and set it to read-only mode! Hope this helps!
