Not really, 5/1/1/5 or 4/1/1/6 can still easily out speed characters like Amy on those tracks, especially Dream Valley. You can pretty much take any turn easily with 1 handling. Even in the hands of a pro, she's not faster than 5/1/1/5 or 5/1/1/6 on curved tracks or else you'll see her at the top of the Time Attack leaderboards.
Eventhough SOL admitted recently that they didn't design the game to be played competitively, I really hope they'll add a custom mod option in the next game so that you can really enjoy playing your favourite characters.
Btw. I'm keep owning people with Amy.
Then again, this could make us try how much a 1/5/5/1 build really suck compared to every other builds out there but yeah, no. This wouldn't happen.
Also, it was a great honor to face you in a series of 1v1s against you earlier today.... I wish I recorded it, though.
On the flip side, acceleration charathers lose less time from item hits, and in an actual race, you can throw opponents off by not having to change your cars facing on drifts to the extent that ages or vyse would. I don't see what's to complain about, even though I can murderize people in time trials in all games mentioned, I can still randomly lose to a mr. EAD, baby bowser, or an Amiga.
I used to use acceleration charathers jut about all the time, but I just like being able to bet on only having to brush with the other racers the first time I pass them, and then have a stronger racing line that prevents catch up shenanigans. I don't want the last 20 seconds of every race to be spent checking the rear view and occasionally physically blocking opponents.
A game full of funky kong... n1 memories.
Funky Kong + Bowser Bike.
And Rosalina
Sometimes Diddy
But mainly the first three.
